Media in Zambia told not to ignore Ebola

Government says that the media has stopped reporting on Ebola despite the disease not having been completely eradicated.
Copperbelt Province Permanent Secretary, Dr. Davy Chikamata however, says that the media should not be complacent but maintain its active role in sensitizing the community.
Breeze FM Staffer, Juliana Banda reports that Dr. Chikamata was speaking when he officiated at a Media Orientation on EVD, Ebola Virus Disease, being held in Kitwe District.
Dr. Chikamata noted that government has continued to actively coordinate activities under the Ebola Virus Disease Rapid Response and Preparedness Team.
He stressed that the fact that West African Countries such as Guinea and Sierra Leone have continued to record cases of Ebola, is reason enough to continue carrying out sensitization campaigns in the country.
Dr. Chikamata says that this will prevent any possible outbreak of the disease in the country.

The EVD, Ebola Virus Disease orientation workshop for media personnel has attracted reporters and radio presenters from Eastern, Luapula, Mchinga, Northern, North-western and Copperbelt provinces.
