Members of Parliament in Zambia using the Constituency Development Fund to foster their personal agendas.

A study has revealed that most Members of Parliament in Zambia are using the CDF, Constituency Development Fund to foster their personal agendas.
This is according to SACCORD, the Southern African Centre for Constructive Resolution of Disputes.
Speaking during a media orientation workshop in Chipata this morning, CDF Programme Manager Edgar Mainza also revealed that the study established that MPs have an influence on the way CDF is disbursed.
Mr. Mainza told journalists that the study was conducted in various districts of the country.
He explained that the process had been hampered by lack of participation from the community.
Mr. Mainza added that Zambia had not produced the results it should have compared to other countries using the same system of CDF to foster development.
Mr. Mainza has appealed to the media to continue highlighting the successes and challenges being faced in implementing the CDF projects.
