The Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services Kennedy Sakeni, has died.
Mr. Sakeni’s death has been announced by President Michael Sata in a press statement availed to Breeze News this afternoon.
Mr. Sakeni, who was Chief government Spokesperson and also Mansa Central PF Member of Parliament died this afternoon at Lusaka’s University Teaching Hospital UTH.
And President Sata has sent a message of condolences to the Sakeni family.
In his letter of condolences to the late Sakeni’s widow, President Sata described Mr. Sakeni’s death as heart breaking.
The Head of State stated that it is indeed tragic that the nation has lost a leader who rendered a gallant service to the country in the various distinguished portfolios he held.
President Sata says that the Sakeni family should take comfort and solace in the understanding that the entire nation’s thoughts and prayers are with them during this distressing and painful period.
