The Ministry of Education in Eastern Province says it is ready to conduct this year’s Information Communication Technology, ICTs examinations for grade Nine.
Provincial Education Officer, Allan Lingambe has confirmed this to Breeze FM this morning.
Dr. Lingambe made the assurance when he was contacted for a comment during a live discussion program dubbed ‘People’s View Point’ on Breeze FM.
The PEO, who described the 2015 ICTs examinations as a scandal, says the Ministry has put in place a number of things, such as procurement of computers for selected schools in remote areas of the province.
He says the District Education Board Secretary’s Office, DEBS in collaboration with school Head Teachers and Parents Teachers Associations, PTAs for selected schools have also procured computers for administering this year’s ICTs Examinations
Dr. Lingambe says the computers may not be sufficient but says he is confident that they will assist a lot in running the examinations successfully.
He says it is however, inevitable to see similar challenges in some schools, but says the situation may not be as tense as it was in the last year.
