This is contrary to some reports that emerged on Saturday that the recruitment exercise of 5,000 teachers has been indefinitely suspended.
Ministry of Education spokesperson, Hillary Chipanga says that the ministry will soon run an advert to allow prospective teachers apply.
On Saturday, some prospective teachers expressed concern over reports on some online media that the recruitment exercise has been suspended.
Government plans to recruit about 5, 000 teachers this year, in order to reduce the teacher pupil ratio.
In Eastern Province, some teacher union organizations have urged the ministry to ensure that most of the teachers who will be recruited this year should be sent to rural areas, which are the worst hit by the shortage of teachers.
Ministry of Education says teacher recruitment will go ahead.
