Misunderstandings over fertilizer distribution spark divisions amongst the differently abled in Chipata.

Misunderstandings over fertilizer distribution have caused divisions amongst the differently abled community in Chipata.
Speaking to Breeze News, Chairperson for the Kapata Disabled People’s Club, Albert Soko, accused some members of giving false reports to media regarding the distribution of farming inputs which took place at Lutembwe Transit Home.
Two weeks ago, 15 households from the disabled community received fertilizer and maize seed from the Department of Community Development in Chipata.
However, some members of the community circulated reports in the media that the fertilizer received had been sold.
Mr Soko dispelled the reports as lies, and said inspections he conducted found that all the households still had the fertilizer.
He says that the recipients of the inputs were waiting for the onset of the rainy season before utilizing them.
And the chief advisor for the club, Robert Vwalika, cautioned the media to desist from issuing unsubstantiated remarks.
He says such a practice will only cause divisions amongst the disabled community.
