The Movement for Multi-Party Democracy MMD has issued notices of its national convention slated for 20 to 22nd May, 2016 in Kabwe.
MMD Spokesperson, Raphael Nakachinda has confirmed in an interview with Breeze News.
Mr. Nakachinda says that the convention will proceed as planned since the courts dismissed an injunction which MMD leader Nevers Mumba filed in the high court to prevent the party from holding the event.
He says that it is now up to the MMD leader to decide if he wants to attend the convention or not adding that whatever decision he makes the party will go ahead.
Mr Nakachinda stated that the convention will be held in line with the provisions of the MMD Constitution Article 15.
Leadership wrangles have engulfed the former ruling party with its MPs now opting to endorse other presidential candidates for the August 11 general election.
