MMD launch Kakumbi local government by-election campaign

The Movement for Multi-Party Democracy MMD in Mambwe district has launched its campaigns for the Kakumbi local government by-election slated for August 6.
MMD District Chairperson, Zephaniah Kaleya confirmed to Breeze News that the campaigns were launched yesterday in Mfuwe’s cropping area.
Mr. Keleya, who is also campaign manager for the MMD candidate, Maison Phiri says that the party was impressed with the turnout of people at the launch.
And Mr. Mwale accused the PF, Patriotic Front Party in Mambwe of not supporting the MMD, stating that they attempted to disrupt the launch.
He described the situation as regrettable stating that the two political parties should have agreed on one candidate.
Mr. Kaleya appealed to the governing party not to destroy the cordial relationship that the two political parties are enjoying.
And efforts to get a comment from the PF leadership in Mambwe district proved futile by News time.
However, last week, PF Provincial Chairperson, Atany Mwamba described as regrettable the misunderstanding over the Kakumbi local government by-election, stating that MMD had not made its intention known that they wanted to contest the seat.
