MMD National leadership accused of making the party unpopular in Eastern Province

The MMD in Eastern Province has accused its NEC, National Executive Committee of making the party unpopular in the region.
Provincial vice Information and Publicity Secretary, Robbie Kondowe has charged that failing to participate in by – elections is one way of making the party unpopular.
Mr. Kondowe stated that the decision by NEC to shun the two parliamentary by-elections in Petauke Central and Malambo is very retrogressive.
He further wondered why NEC opted not to field candidates in the by-elections when the party is still strong in the province.
And Mr. Kondowe expressed concern over expulsion and suspension of most NEC members believed to be from Eastern Province.
He singled out Muhabi Lungu, Chembe Nyangu, Alexander Miti and Martha Mulenga.
