Another by-election has been created in Lundazi district following a decision by Nthitimila ward councillor, Bili Mackson to ditch MMD for PF, Patriotic Front Party.
According to a resignation letter availed to Breeze News, Mr. Mackson says that he has decided to join PF because of President, Edgar Lungu’s good leadership.
He says that the head of state has preached love among Zambians and embraced all political parties with some opposition MPs being appointed cabinet ministers.
Mr. Mackson also says that he has received massive development and support from the PF government in his area.
He further says that he has been inspired by the PF Lundazi district committee, which has shown him love and embraced other political parties in the district.
Meanwhile PF Provincial Chairperson, Attany Mwamba has welcomed Mr. Mackson’s decision to join the governing party stating that everyone is free to join PF.
Mr. Mwamba has stated that PF is aware that by-elections cost a lot of money, but that it cannot stop people exercising their democratic right.
Mr. Mackson, who also publicly announced his decision yesterday at a defection meeting held at Nthitimila Basic School, was followed by close to 400 former MMD members.
