MMD President, Nevers Mumba has stopped his candidates for the June 30th parliamentary by-election from filing in their nominations.
Speaking to Breeze News MMD Malambo candidate Zefeniya Kaleya says that he received an instruction from the party President that he should not file in his nomination because the party is not participating.
Mr. Kaleya who is also Mambwe district Chairperson expressed disappointment over Dr. Mumba’s decision, saying the decision was supposed to be discussed earlier because he was ready to go and file in his nomination when he suddenly received a call from the President this morning.
Meanwhile, three candidates in Malambo have so far successfully filed in there nominations.
These are Jairos Mchenga from UNIP, Peter Simon Phiri UPND and Jack Shuma from Patriotic Front.

And police in Petauke are in riot gear following confusion between PF and UPND during the filing in of nomination papers by UPND candidate, Allan Zulu.
