MMD Provincial Secretary, Samuel Lugomo Phiri expelled from the party.

Movement for Multi-Party Democracy MMD Provincial Secretary, Samuel Lugomo Phiri has been expelled from the party.
And MMD Provincial Youth Chairperson, Chembe Daka has been suspended from his position and the party indefinitely.

According to a letter of expulsion dated 29 July availed to Breeze News, signed by MMD Deputy National Secretary, Winnie Zalumis, Mr. Lugomo Phiri has been kicked out for failing to exculpate himself over allegations of gross misconduct.
Ms. Zalumis has noted that Mr. Lugomo Phiri was suspended last year in May for gross misconduct and asked to exculpate himself, which he has not done up to date.
She notes that the party is dismayed and shocked that Mr. Lugomo Phiri has instead continued with the same conduct to malign the party and its leadership to an extent, where he has misled party members that MMD is not participating in the Kakumbi August 6, local government by-election.
Mr. Lugomo Phiri is also MMD Sisinje Ward councillor, meaning a by-election is looming in the area.
Meanwhile provincial youth chairperson, Chembe Daka has been suspended for among other reasons denouncing the PF-MMD alliance, de-campaigning the MMD candidate in the Kakumbi local government by election and using radio to castigate and condemn party president, Nevers Mumba.
According to a suspension letter dated, July 28, signed by MMD Provincial Chairperson, Jacob Mwanza, Mr. Daka has further been suspended for failing to take hid to advice to refrain from outbursts that have caused a lot of misunderstandings among party members in the province.
He has been directed not to involve himself in active politics.
