MMD rubbishes defections of ten councillors to UPND in Sinda district.

The MMD has rubbished the defections of all their ten councillors to UPND in Sinda district.
Provincial Spokesperson, Zephaniah Kaleya says 90 per cent of the councillors who defected are not even qualified to re-contest their positions in the August 11 general elections.
Speaking to Breeze News, Mr Kaleya further charged that all the councillors were facing disciplinary action for insubordination.
He says that some of the councillors were serving suspensions for showing allegiance to UPND, the United Party for National Development in the January 20, 2015 presidential election.
Mr Kaleya says that the defections show lack of responsibility on the part of the civic leaders stating that they had less than three months to perform their duties.
He says that the councillors were deceived that UPND will form government on August 11, a situation which will not happen.
And Mr Kaleya has charged that the Ministry of Local Government and Housing should dissolve Sinda District Council because the councillors have dissolved themselves by defecting to UPND.
