Movement for Multi-Party Democracy MMD youths in Eastern Province have demanded for the dissolution of ACC, the Anti-Corruption Commission.
The youths have also expressed displeasure at the way the issue of lifting former President, Rupiah Banda’s immunity is being handled.
This is according to a press statement availed to Breeze News by MMD Provincial Youth Chairperson, Chembe Daka.
Mr. Daka says that ACC should be dissolved because it has lost its purpose following the clearance of Justice Minister, Wynter Kabimba and Defence Minister, Geoffrey Mwamba of any wrongdoing.
Mr. Daka has charged that President Sata has given his cabinet ministers immunity from prosecution and that it would only be fair that ACC be dissolved so that all citizens remain equal before the law.
And Mr. Daka says that statements coming from government, some non-government organisations and some sections of the media suggest that Mr. Banda is already guilt of corruption.
He says that MMD youths would like to see order and civility in the manner the issue of Mr. Banda’s immunity is being handled.
