More bins needed at Kapata Market

Traders at Kapata market in Chipata have called on Chipata Municipal Council to put more garbage bins.

Market Chairperson, Richard Lunda told Breeze News that the market was given three bins by the council which are not enough.

He says the bins have been placed in strategic places but the market is too big because traders from the Morden market do not have a bin.

Mr. Lunda however, stated that despite the trading area having inadequate bins, hygiene has improved as authorities from the council collect garbage twice a week.

When contacted for a comment, Chipata Municipal Council Town Clerk, Davies Musenge says the local authority will assist the market with more bins.
