Chadiza District Council has called on the newly elected area Member of Parliament Salatiel Tembo to work towards developing the district.
District Council Physical Planner Michael Ngulube says that the MP should work towards improving the water situation by lobbying for more boreholes for the district.
He was speaking during a stakeholders meeting organised by Eastern Water and Sewerage Company, which was also attended by the new law maker.
Mr. Ngulube says water shortage especially in rural areas is a major problem in the district and that urgent attention is required.
He noted that the Chadiza MP should also make sure that road works that have stalled in the district are completed.
Mr. Ngulube further challenged Mr. Tembo to push for the release of CDF, Constituency Development Fund which the district has not received in the last two years.
And in responding to the call, Mr Tembo says that he will work towards fulfilling people’s demands.
