Government says the opening of private universities and colleges in the country will assist curb challenges of lack of space in higher learning institutions.
Minister of Higher Education, Michael Kaingu says the opening of private universities and colleges has given opportunities to more students’ enrolment across the country.
Dr. Kaingu says the graduating ceremony for DMI St. Eugene University held yesterday is a clear testimony of government’s partnership with the private sector, which should continue.
Dr. Kaingu thanked DMI for establishing a university in Chipata to enrol local students because education is the only cornerstone to development.
He added that the decision by the university to provide a 100 percent tuition fee exemption and bursaries to 25 students this year is a good idea which should be emulated by others.
