The Nyimba District Council has allocated 37.5 hectares of land to ZNBS, Zambia National Building Society for the construction of more than 200 housing units in the district.
Nyimba District Council Secretary, Peter Ngulube has told Breeze News today that the local authority has allocated the land without any conditions attached to it.
He says ZNBS is currently processing the documentation in order to start constructing the 200 housing units in the district.
Mr Ngulube has also disclosed that the local authority is waiting for the tarring of township roads in the district.
He says the tarring of the project has not yet started because the contractor had not yet been found to undertake the project.
The council secretary has also dismissed speculations that Sable Construction Company had been awarded a contract for the tarring works.
