Officers in the Ministry of Agriculture have been urged to ensure that they distribute the 2016/2017 government subsidized farming inputs in a transparent manner.
Vubwi District Livestock and Fisheries Coordinator, Richard Banda has told Breeze News that the 2016/2017 fertilizer under FISP, the Farmer Input Support Program has come at a good time in Eastern Province but should not be misused.
Dr. Banda says the fertilizer should be distributed to the intended beneficiaries, adding that the people entrusted with the responsibility to distribute the inputs should do it well.
He says distributing the inputs to the intended beneficiaries will help genuine farmers to benefit and produce more food for consumption, sale and livestock.
