Over 100 families in Lusangazi Ward in Petauke district have been hit with hunger.
The villagers told Breeze News that they have been waiting for relief food since last year from government but nothing has been done.
The residents further explained that due to hunger, people have been unable to cultivate in their fields.
The hunger stricken villagers have appealed to DMMU, the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit to help them with relief food.
In December last year, Petauke District Commissioner, Elija Mwale, promised all the three constituencies in the district that government would provide them with relief food but nothing has been done.
