Over 100 female pupils in Chadiza district fell pregnant in 2015.

About 103 female pupils in Chadiza district fell pregnant while at school in 2015.
Chadiza DESO, District Education Standards Officer, Elisha Sikapulanga says the most affected pupils are the weekly boarders in Day Schools due to lack of security in the places they live.
Mr Sikapulanga says the number of school dropouts in schools is very high compared to the number of those readmitted after delivery.
He says that in 2015, only 25 female pupils were readmitted under the re-entry policy.

Mr Sikapulanga says government together with other stakeholders should find solutions on how to prevent early pregnancies among pupils to reduce the number of school drop outs.
Mr Sikapulanga was speaking during a symposium on ending early child marriages and gender based violence organized by Chadiza District Farmers Association in Chadiza today.
