Chipata Municipal Council has so far attended to over 30 cases of illegal land allocation.
Chipata Mayor, Sinoya Mwale says from the time he resumed office last week, over 30 people have approached him with issues concerning illegal land allocation.
Mr. Mwale says this follows his pronouncement during his inauguration that any person facing a land dispute and cases of illegal land allocation should take their cases to him so that they are dealt with.
Mr. Mwale says this is in an effort to bring sanity in Chipata Town which is earmarked for a city status.
He says he will ensure that proper planning is conducted before issuing out land to any person for developmental purposes.
