Over 300 beacons placed by the council in Sinda District vandalized

Over 300 beacons placed by the council in Sinda District last year, have been vandalized by the community, hampering development projects being initiated by government in the area.
In an interview with Breeze News, District Planning Officer Joseph Mumba expressed disappointment with the development.
Mr. Mumba explained that the vandalism has cost government about 50, 000 Kwacha just to engage surveyors to replace the beacons.
He says that this has delayed some of the projects such as the construction of the district hospital.
Mr. Mumba appealed to the community to support the developmental projects, stating that they will be the ones to benefit from the structures.
