Over 650 males circumcised in the latest campaign in Lundazi district.

At least 655 males have been circumcised in the ongoing April – May male circumcision campaign in Lundazi district.

District Community Medical Officer David Zulu has told Breeze News that the number caters for all age groups.

Dr. Zulu revealed that the district is targeting at circumcising 1,000 males during the campaign.

He indicated that the campaign is aimed at further reducing the spread of sexually transmitted diseases such HIV, syphilis, and gonorrhoea among others.

Dr. Zulu explained that Male Circumcision can reduce the transmission of the HIV virus up to 40 per cent.

He stated that Male Circumcision, behaviour change, condom use and sticking to one faithful partner can help address the further spread of HIV.
