Over K25,000 stolen from a shop in Katete district

Over 25 thousand Kwacha cash has been stolen from Kensons Sheds Shop belonging to a Zambian of Asian Origin after armed robbers broke in at Katete Stores in Katete district.

Eastern Province Police Commissioner, Alex Chilufya confirmed to Breeze News, the incident, which occurred between 01 and 02 hours in the morning of yesterday.

Mr. Chilufya added that three armed robbers who wore masks and were armed with a pistol and an AK 47 rifle also walked away with four thousand seven hundred United States dollars cash from the shop after tying up the guard.

He says the matter was reported to the police by the shop owner, Mr. Silazi Ismael.

Mr. Chilufya says no arrest has been made as police are investigating the matter.

And property worth about ten thousand Kwacha has been stolen by unknown people from a house belonging to Helen Ngulube aged 54 of Kalongwezi Township in Chipata.

Mr. Chilufya says the incident happened yesterday around 02 hours in the morning when the thieves broke into the house.

Police are investigating the matter as no arrest has been made.
