The Patriotic Front PF Party in Eastern Province has appealed to long distance bus operators to ensure that drivers have enough rest.
Vice Information and Publicity Secretary Chembe Daka says that the party has observed that most drivers do not rest after driving long distances.
Mr. Daka says that some drivers drive between Chipata and Lusaka almost every day, putting the lives of people at risk.
He says that the buses are also not serviced because they are on the road every day.
Mr. Daka says that bus owners should be interested in protecting the lives of passengers unlike only being interested in money.
