Patriotic Front Party gets more seats in parliament

A consolidated list of elected members of parliament has shown that the PF, Patriotic Front Party has the highest representation in parliament.

The list on the ECZ, Electoral Commission of Zambia website shows that PF has 80 MPs, followed by UPND, which has 58 MPs.

Independent MPs are 14, followed by MMD, the Movement for Multi-Party Democracy which has 3.

The Forum for Democracy and Development FDD only has one Member of Parliament.

This means that only three of the nine political parties, which contested the presidential election, are represented in parliament.

However, 29 parliamentary petitions have been filed in the Lusaka High Court where some losing candidates are contesting the election of their political opponents.
