Permanent Secretary Chanda Kasolo to consult President Edgar Lungu over his summoning by Ngoni chiefs.

Eastern Province Permanent Secretary, Chanda Kasolo says he will have to consult President Edgar Lungu on how to deal with the Ngoni-Chewa misunderstanding.
Ngoni chiefs over the weekend agreed to summon Mr. Kasolo and Chipata District Commissioner, Kalunga Zulu to exculpate themselves over government’s decision to cancel a Ngoni meeting, which was supposed to take place in Chipangali on 14 June.

Mr. Kasolo told Breeze News this morning that he is a technocrat who is supposed to seek guidance from the appointing authority on how to respond to demands by Ngoni chiefs.
He stated that the misunderstanding between the Ngonis and Chewas over land is a dangerous matter, which needs to be handled carefully adding that government will not take sides.
During the meeting held by Ngoni chiefs, Paramount Chief Mpezeni also took a swipe at former President, Rupiah Banda whom he accused of being behind the tribal land conflict.
