Patriotic Front PF Deputy Spokesperson, Frank Bwalya has clarified that the party only recognizes Moses Mawere as their candidate for Chipata Central constituency.
Mr. Bwalya, who is also PF Deputy Campaign Manager for President Edgar Lungu says the President did not have enough time to introduce Mr. Mawere to people when he had a rally at Chipata Golf Course on Friday.
He says that this is the more reason why he remained behind so that he can introduce Mr. Mawere to the people of Chipata following the decision by other PF members to endorse the opposition MMD candidate, Reuben M’tolo Phiri.
Mr. Bwalya says the party cannot have two candidates in one constituency and people should not be cheated by Mr. Phiri, whom he says is claiming to have the blessings from the Head of State.
Father Bwalya said this during campaign meetings in Dilika, Kanjala and Kapata wards yesterday.
He urged people in Chipata Central constituency to Vote for President Edgar Lungu, Moses Mawere as their Member of Parliament, Sinoya Mwale as Chipata Mayor, William Phiri as Kanjala Ward councilor, Sam Phiri as Dilika Ward councilor and Naphtali Banda as Kapata ward councilor.
And Chipata Based businessman, Idris Mosali also endorsed the candidature of Moses Mawere at the same meetings.
Mr. Mosali says people should not vote for opposition Members of parliament but ensure that they vote for PF candidates because the ruling party has done a lot of development in the country as a whole.
Other candidates contesting the Chipata Central Parliamentary seat are Nedson Undi for UPND, Dorcas Nachangwe for Rainbow Party, Potiphar Chungu for FDD and Watson Lungu for UNIP.
