PF Vubwi chairperson Michael Tembo’s bond revoked

Chipata Magistrate Moses Phiri has revoked a bond for Vubwi Patriotic Front PF Chairperson Michael Tembo.
This is in a matter in which Tembo 44, a farmer of Zozwe area in Vubwi is facing two counts for allegedly assaulting Peter Sukwa from the Post Newspapers and Kelvin Phiri from Feel Free Radio station.
When Tembo appeared for mention, the state applied that the accused had not provided details of where he stays including his contact numbers for easy tracing.
Ruling on the application from the state, Magistrate Phiri said the case was very sensitive adding that the accused might flee into neighbouring Malawi.
He said despite the accused mentioning Vubwi Member of Parliament Margaret Miti as his surety, Tembo had no fixed abode thereby making it difficult to trace him.
Magistrate Phiri ruled that the accused be remanded in custody.
He is expected to appear for plea on January 27th 2016 in Vubwi District where he committed an offence.
Both Sukwa and Kelvin were present during Tembo’s appearance in court.
