Police and prison officers in Lundazi told to resign if they are interested in partisan politics.

Police and prison officers in Lundazi district have been warned that they risk being fired if they get involved in partisan politics.
Police and Prison Officers Commission Chairperson, Alexander Museba says that the officers should remain loyal and support the government of the day.
He says that all the uniformed officers who want to join active politics should resign from the civil service.
Mr Museba revealed that his commission was in Lundazi district to tour, inspect and address some critical issues affecting uniformed officers such as environment and conditions under which officers operate.
Mr Museba noted that police and prison service commission is aware of the many challenges being experienced by the two departments.
He disclosed that his commission has embarked on sensitisation programmes in order for officers to desist from engaging themselves in corrupt practices.
Mr. Museba was speaking when he paid a courtesy call on Lundazi District Commissioner Janet Mvula.
And Ms Mvula complained that police and prison officers were being demotivated because of working under challenging conditions such as lack of accommodation and using worn out uniforms.
