Police in Chadiza assures political parties of fair general elections coverage

Police in Chadiza district have assured political parties of fair coverage during campaigns for the August 11 general elections.
Chadiza District Police Officer-in-Charge, Assistant Superintendent Kenneth Konayuma however, says police have to be notified early of any meeting and rally.

He warned party leaders to caution their cadres on the consequences of political violence stating that they need to follow the laid down procedures when conducting party meetings and rallies.
He was speaking at an interactive political session organized by the Police Department in Chadiza district.
Mr Konayuma also took time to explain the Public Order Act to political leaders that attended the meeting.
And Chadiza District Council Secretary Kennedy Kazanda has called on all political party leaders in the district to help advocate for peace and unity as the country prepares to go to the polls on August 11 this year.
Mr Kazanda says that no political party is above the law adding that political parties should spend time on explaining their party manifesto than preaching hatred and violence.
