A 17 year old boy has been arrested by police for defiling a 14-year-old girl of the same village in Chipata.
The incident is reported to have happened between, January 27th and February 12th this year.
Eastern Province Police Commissioner Grace Chipalila has confirmed the incident.
She says that the suspect is from Nyandeka Village in Senior Chief Nzamane’s area.
Ms Chipalila said the suspect was currently detained at Chipata Police Station awaiting appearance in court with the charge of defilement.
