The Police Service in Eastern Province has managed to settle 50 per cent of an outstanding bill of 980, 000 Kwacha, owed to Eastern Water and Sewerage Company.
This comes after all police stations in the Province were disconnected from water supply last month.
Managing Director, Lytone Kanowa confirmed to Breeze News that 450, 000 Kwacha was paid last week.
Mr. Kanowa further revealed that other government departments have not yet paid anything towards the outstanding bill of 3.5 million Kwacha.
He however, said that it was gratifying to note that the Provincial Administration has shown commitment to paying the amounts owed.
