Police in Lundazi have arrested and charged a suspect in connection with the murder of a Danavant employee in Chama district last week.
Eastern Province Police Commissioner, Grace Chipalila says that police have also detained three other suspects, who are still being interrogated.
Ms. Chipalila told Breeze News that police have arrested and charged Giant Mvula 32, with murder and aggravated robbery after he was identified by Davanat Cashier Harrison Chibobwa as having been involved in the attack.
Four armed masked robbers shot Daniel Phiri, a field manager of Danavant Cotton Company who was on a motorcycle with company cashier Harrison Chibobwa in an attempt to grab 30,000 Kwacha cash, which the two workers, were taking for payment to cotton farmers.
Ms. Chiplalila says that Giant Mvula is expected to appear in court before Thursday this week while investigations on the other three suspects continue.
