Police in Lundazi district have picked up a body of a 36 year old man.
Eastern Province Police Commissioner Alex Chilufya confirmed the incident to Breeze News.
Mr. Chilufya says Benson Nyirenda a teacher at Kawuwo Primary School in Chief Magodi’s area was found dead along the road, 35 kilometres from Lundazi Boma.
He says the body was found with white hard pass discharge from the nose, bleeding from the mouth and blood stains on the chest.
Mr. Chilufya says Nyirenda met his fate when he went drinking on Friday night.
He says that the police suspect foul play in the matter and wanted to conduct a post-mortem.
Mr. Chilufya however, says that family members indicated that they could not afford to pay for the post-mortem, a situation which has resulted in police abandoning the procedure.
