Police officer arrested for stealing 195,000 Kwacha at national breweries in Chipata.

Police in Chipata have arrested a police officer involved in the stealing of the 195,000 Kwacha at national breweries.
The police officer identified as sergeant Thomas Mutota 36 of house number K27, Kapata Compound is believed to be the mastermind of the robbery that happened 2 weeks ago.
Speaking to Journalists, Eastern Province Deputy Police Commissioner, Alfred Nawa explained that investigations found that the officer played a big role in the robbery.
Mr Nawa says that police decided to jointly arrest him with the other two suspects, Wilson Ngulube 39 a cashier and Samuel Moyo a taxi driver, who was also involved in the robbery.
He says that sergeant Mutota, who has been charged with theft and was formerly arrested on Monday, is expected to appear in court soon.
Meanwhile, a 60 years old man Mike Mwanza was on Monday found dead in his house around 14:30 hours in Mukopeka village of Chief Ndake’s area in Nyimba District.
Mr Nawa says that police suspect foul play and are treating the case as murder.
