Political parties in Eastern Province have been advised against harassing journalists.
Youth Development Foundation YDF Executive Director, Chinoya Muyeye says that journalists should be allowed to do their work without intimidation.
He was speaking this morning during a meeting with various political parties organized by YDF under the VOTE, Voice of Today’s Electorates Project.
Mr. Chinoya also called on political parties to desist from violence and find best ways of resolving their misunderstandings.
He stated that YDF and other civil society organizations are willing to assist resolve their differences by being mediators to ensure that the August 11 elections are peaceful.
Meanwhile Mr. Muyeye has appealed to political parties to desist from using youths to fan violence.
He says that political parties should instead ensure that young people are considered for adoption so that they can also take up leadership positions.
