The poor state of roads has worried farmers in Gamphula area of Chipata district.
Sofia Sakala and Shadreck Mbewe say that the poor road network in the area will pose serious challenges to farmers when transporting their crops to markets.
They mentioned Malenguka, Mkanda and Nchencheneko roads as some of the major roads that lead to markets such as tobacco floors at Mgubudu.
They appealed to government to quickly rehabilitate roads in the area.
And Chipata district administrative officer, Kapembwa Sikazwe, acknowledged that the road network in the area is bad.
Mr. Sikazwe, however assured the villagers that government is committed to ensuring that roads in rural areas are improved.
He explained that his office will engage the CDF committee in the area to find ways in which the road network can quickly be improved.
