The problem of low power voltage in Eastern Province is expected to reduce.
This follows the change of power supply from 66 Kilovolts to 330 kilovolts from Pesulo power station, which has increased the capacity.
ZESCO Regional Manager, Joseph Chilongo confirmed the development to Breeze News.
Mr. Chilongo says the province was phased away from the old 66 kilovolt Pensulo- Msoro- Chipata power line on Sunday this week.
He says that the increase in power capacity has enabled ZESCO to start extending electricity supply to Kacholola area in Nyimba district, a situation which would have not been possible before the introduction of the 330 kilovolts power line.
And Mr. Chilongo has attributed the current power outages to system disturbances on the new 330 kilovolts power line.
He explained that such a system disturbance happens when there is a new power line adding that it is expected to end soon as ZESCO is monitoring the situation.
