Pregnant women facing financial challenges advised to seek social counselling.

Pregnant women facing financial challenges to take care of their babies have been advised to seek social counselling.
Chipata General Hospital Medical Officer, Daniel Makawa, says that most women who commit abortions or dump babies give reasons of not having money to take care of their babies.
Dr. Makawa says that such women should make use of the social counselling centre at the general hospital, where they can be assisted.
He urged young people to abstain from sex when they are not ready.
Meanwhile, a three day old baby that was dumped in a pit latrine by his mother in Chipata’s Sido area on Friday last week is in good health condition.
Dr. Makawa says that the baby will only be discharged upon assessing the situation at home and on the outcome of the court case involving the mother.
