President Michael Sata challenged by his own party members over decision to transfer Eastern Province Permanent Secretary Emmanuel Mwamba to Western Province.

The ruling Patriotic Front PF party in Eastern Province has opposed the decision by President Michael Sata to transfer Eastern Province Permanent Secretary Emmanuel Mwamba to Western Province.
The party has requested President Michael Sata to rescind his decision.
According to a petition to State House signed by, PF, Vice Provincial Secretary, Enock Phiri, the party is saddened with the transfer of Mr. Mwamba and has pleaded with the head of State to rescind the move.
Mr. Phiri says the party’s appeal is in line with considerations that the region has for a long time suffered from having a quality and effective leader who can manage to drive forward the agenda of the province.
Mr. Phiri says the province needs Mr. Mwamba as PS because of his recent performance.
He has revealed that that PF party in the province has for a long suffered resistance from civil servants since it came into power but, Mr. Mwamba has assisted to change their mind-set and even their working culture.
Meanwhile some youths in Chipata have threatened to withdraw their support for the ruling PF if President Sata does not change his decision over the transfer of Mr. Mwamba.
Speaking in a separate interview the youths have questioned President Sata’s way of handling administrative issues, stating that it does not work well to keep moving senior civil servants.
Felix Nkonde says that Eastern Province will only start seeing tangible developmental results if Emmanuel Mwamba is allowed continue serving as PS.
