Prices of cement have been reduced in Chipata.

Prices of cement in Chipata have been reduced by almost 16 Kwacha.
A check by Breeze News revealed that a 50 kilogramme bag of cement which was being sold at between 80 and 83 Kwacha, has now reduced to between 67 and 68 Kwacha.
The reduction in the price of the commodity has been attributed to a new player on the market, whose cement is selling at 59 Kwacha.
And Eastern Province Chamber of Commerce and Industry EPCCI Chief Executive Officer, Josephine Chirwa has described the price reduction as a positive development.
Ms. Chirwa says that the reduction will promote trade, which will eventually have a positive impact on the country’s economy.
She says that government should encourage investment in production of other products like sugar and cooking oil to push prices of such products down.
