Provincial Forestry Officer Agness Chinyama has been discharged of her duties with immediate effect.
Provincial Permanent Secretary Chanda Kasolo has confirmed the development to Breeze News.
Mr. Kasolo, who was not in a position to explain why Ms. Chinyama has been relieved from the public service, explained that President Edgar Lungu has retired Ms. Chinyama in national interest.
And commenting on the districts in Chipata that do not have District Commissioners in office yet, Mr. Kasolo says that the president is still scrutinizing the list of names to take over office.
He says that the verification process is expected to be completed soon.
Five District Commissioners in Eastern Province had their contracts not renewed early this year.
These are Janet Palukani for Lundazi, Paul Phiri for Chadiza, Velenasi Moyo for Petauke, Col. Peter Kaisa for Katete, Janet Mvula for Sinda and George Phiri for Nyimba.
