PS Chanda Kasolo annoys Deputy Minister, Gerry Chanda

Home Affairs Deputy Minister, Gerry Chanda is unhappy with Eastern Province Permanent Secretary, Chanda Kasolo for not attending the launch of the Mobile National Registration exercise.
Speaking before reading out his speech yesterday, Mr. Chanda said that he was disappointed that a senior government official who is the PS can shun such an important government programme without an excuse.
Mr. Chanda says that Mr. Kasolo’s decision to shun the launch is undermining government programmes.
Mr. Chanda challenged Kasolo to apologies for what he termed as uncalled for behavior, and explains why he did not attend the event.
He says that he will report Mr. Kasolo to the Minister of Home Affairs.
Mr. Chanda however, thanked the people of Eastern Province for the good gesture rendered to him during his stay in the province.
When contacted for a comment, Mr, Kasolo says that he had asked someone to deliver a message to the Minister that he will not attend the event.
He explained that he was busy finalizing the budget for the Province in Katete with authorities from the Ministry of Finance who were expected to deliver the report to Lusaka.
