Pupils at some schools in Chiparamba area of Chief Chikuwe in Chipata are reported to be learning from outside due to insufficient classrooms.
Headman Nyongo, Patson Mbao has alleged that pupils in grade 4, 5 and 6 at Nyongo Basic School are facing serious classroom challenges.
He says that Nyongo Basic School despite being in existence for more than 50 years only has limited classrooms, which cannot accommodate all the pupils.
The traditional leader appealed to the Ministry of Education to build classrooms and houses for teachers at the school.
And headman Nyongo says that government needs to rehabilitate a road from Giveway passing through Kabwatike to Chiparamba Sub Centre.
He says that this road is in a deplorable state and poses challenges to farmers when transporting farm produce to markets and those seeking medical attention.
Meanwhile Chief Chanje has appealed to villagers in Chief Chikuwe’s area to participate actively in developmental projects.
The traditional leader, who held a meeting in the area observed that Kasenengwa Member of Parliament, Victoria Kalima and Chipangali MP, Vincent Mwale need to do more to address various challenges, which people are facing.
