Lukusuzi Ward Rainbow Party candidate Rodgers Manda in Lumezi Constituency of Lundazi District has with immediate effect withdrawn from the race.
Mr. Manda confirmed to Breeze News his decision to withdraw from contesting the August 11 general elections.
Mr. Manda stated that he has decided to withdraw from active politics because he was from Chief Mwanya’s royal family.
He indicated that being a person from the royal family, he is supposed to support the government of the day.
Mr. Manda further indicated that he also wanted to give himself time to concentrate on traditional leadership.
And Mr. Manda says that he will officially communicate to his party over his decision to withdraw from politic.
Mr. Manda’s decision to withdraw from contesting the Lukusuzi local government seat has left Mubanga Mwanza of PF, the Patriotic Front Party unopposed.
