RDA pays out over 1.2 billion Kwacha to road contractors in Eastern Province.

About 1.2 billion Kwacha has so far been paid to various contractors working on road projects in Eastern Province.
This is according to a Roads Development Agency RDA Eastern Province progress summary report availed to Breeze News.
About 174 million out of 713 million Kwacha has been paid to the contractor working on Chipata-Chadiza-Chanida-Katete roads while 147 million out of 529 million Kwacha has been paid to the contractor working on Chipata-Vubwi road.
RDA has also paid 19 million out of 27 million Kwacha to a contractor rehabilitating selected roads in Msanzala area in Petauke district.
The report also shows RDA has paid out about 539 million out of about 1.4 billion Kwacha to contractors working on the Great East Road.
And on the Chipata-Mfuwe road RDA has paid about 349 million out of 422 million Kwacha while about 4.3 million Kwacha has been paid to contractors carrying out maintenance road works in Lundazi district.
This means that government needs to pay about 1.8 billion Kwacha to contractors in Eastern Province for all the works to be completed.
