Works of grading township service roads in Mthilansembe and Sido Compounds of Chipata District have stalled for more than six months.
Chipata Town Clerk Davies Musenge confirmed to Breeze News that the works have stalled due to a number of challenges.
Mr. Musenge says that lack of machinery was one of the major challenges because a grader from Zambia National Service was withdrawn by ZNS for other works.
He however, says that the local authority is on the ground to look for other machines that can assist to grade the roads.
Mr. Musenge was responding to complaints from residents of Mthilansembe and Sido Compounds over poor state of roads in the area.
The residents say that the roads were not properly graded, resulting in their poor state worsening.
