A delegation of defence security officers from different countries is in Eastern Province to check on the economic, social and cultural activities of the province.

Director of Defence Co-operation, Colonel Andrew Chimfwembe Katenda says the delegation consists of officers from Angola, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Botswana, South Africa and the United States of America.

Colonel Katenda says the delegation is also interested in finding out how the Military men and women are assisting the development of the nation in terms of food security.

Colonel Katenda says this will make the countries understand the operations of security personnel in Zambia and share their ideas.

He was speaking when the officers paid a courtesy call on Eastern Province Assistance Secretary, Royd Tembo.

And Mr. Tembo says the visit of the officers will be of good help to the province because there is a lot that the province needs to learn from them.

Mr. Tembo says security personnel are a cornerstone of the country’s security and thanked government for coming up with the exchange visit programs which he says will help a lot in learning from each other.
